No. Just... no. The parties switched sides/names during the Civil Rights era. The Southern Democrats went Republican after the Civil Rights Act was signed by LBJ. The Republicans who thought black persons were actually people went Democrat. https://www.history.com/news/how-the-par...atic-south https://youtu.be/UiprVX4os2Y
Parties never switched sides.

Likely health workers and maybe first responders first in line to get the vaccine. Then maybe we should just start at age 100+ yr old and work our way down the age bracket till we get to 18yr old. I heard they still need to test in children so they won't get vaccine till summer. Most everyone should get a vaccine by around March/April.
330 million population - 75 million (18yr & younger) = 255m population USA. Maybe around 100- 125m will take vaccine.
At the same time, this virus looks like it's getting out of control again here in the U.S. and Europe.
This latest outbreak of COVID changing anyone's Thanksgiving plans?
Do you plan on taking the vaccine?

The last vaccine I had was about 15 years ago, it was for the Avian Flu - H5N1 a subtype of influenza A. I only got it as people at work got it as well because it was paid for... Hmm... it was at the time, the "scariest/weirdest" flu after the SARS scare. Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H5N1_vaccine And here's a list of vaccines, half of which I didn't heard of or know about: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaccine-pr...e_diseases

As someone who has lived in Virginia since the late 50s, you know where of you speak, Rachel83az. The Byrd Machine was a Democratic entity and it was a racist organization in Virginia. Now? That honor goes to Virginia's Republican party.
After the Civil War, the Democratic Party opposed Reconstruction. Dixiecrats had a convention in Alabama in 1948 when Pres. Harry S. Truman had a pro-civil rights party on the Democratic party's platform. Strom Thurmond ran on a States' Rights ticket. (He eventually switched from the Democratic party to the Republican party.)
Eventually, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in '65. Steadily, the South moved from a Democratic stronghold until it became the Republican stronghold it is today.

As we exit this COVID haze, it's going to be time for all of us to reach out our hands and support each other. Not just for the benefit of others but for ourselves as well.

Just an FYI, LBJ was known to be a frequent user of the N word - he said it regularly in private conversation. This man was no friend to black people, he was racist and used them to his own end. But believe what you want.

Some updates on vaccines.
AstraZeneca/Oxford is doing a U.S. trial of 30,000 people, EUA likely won't come till sometime in spring for the U.S. Already approved in the UK.
(Given that billions of this vaccine will be produced, why did the U.S. wait so long to start phase 3 trials?)
Johnson and Johnson is doing a U.S. trial of 45,000 people, EUA expected in February.
Novavax just started phase 3 trials, EUA would likely come sometime in the spring.

Vaccine Dose Tracker:

Israel has so far vaccinated 18% of its population. Israel PM Netanyahu says all citizens over 16 will be vaccinated by end of March. “We will be the first country to emerge from the coronavirus,” Netanyahu said

U.S. should have 7.5% to 10% vaccinated by the end of January. (2% now)

LBJ was LOTS of not nice things. But as SO many followers of Pres. Trump have said, God uses imperfect tools.
There is a nurse with a Ph.D. in England, John Campbell, who has been using Youtube to teach nurses for years. I go to him for clarity when I have questions about COVID 19, studies, etc. If you're a nursing student or taking some of the sciences in that field, you might want to check out some of his older videos.

I just got the Moderna vaccine yesterday. Nothing, but a sore arm. I hear it's worse for people who had COVID-19 previously or more senior people.
