They would have to develop a curriculum, hire professors, etc. None of which is free or low cost. Don't expect to see the DBA happening. I wouldn't be surprised if they're added to the long list of colleges closing. It's becoming a common occurrence unfortunately.
Having no connection to the school or inside knowledge, what an odd projection of failure for a school that has infused significant revenue over the last few years with their addition of the DHA program. The recent accreditation has already been addressed, and from what has been explained by Dr. Gutpa (Program Chair), they have supplied and have approval on all necessary documents, with an update reflecting this scheduled for the following review.
Of the options we could have, VUL continues to be a small university with more pains due to its size and limited excess of funds; they continue to plug along, experiencing occasional bruises occasionally. Acquisition from a local university or another HBCU, and the final option would be for them to go down the path of Patten University.
This forum tends to have such a doom-and-gloom way of looking at the world when the numbers don't back that up.
Tomorrow morning, VUL closing update

Just because someone doesn't have a connection to a college doesn't mean that they can't read. I've read about the history of VUL and their financial issues have gone on for years. They're an NA school for a reason. Even that they're struggling on keeping. The infusion of revenue clearly hasn't helped as they're still struggling financially. Many colleges are. A number of colleges closed this year and more have already announced plans to close next year.

The level of emotion in this response confirms feelings are way too high for a logical dialog. I'm okay with you being 100% right to close this discussion.

Not emotional at all, but keep telling yourself that.

Dude you really think I care what happens to VUL? I really don't. I don't think it's going to survive. There are hundreds of colleges that I don't think are going to survive the next 5-10 years. Private colleges are really struggling and it's not going to get any better for them. State colleges are also struggling but have the benefit of taxpayers to bail them out. We're seeing SUNY colleges cut programs left and right due to the lack of students. I imagined other state universities have the same issue. I know U of Maine has struggled for years. UMPI's YourPace has been a huge benefit to them both. I live in a college town and it's definitely not the same since Covid arrived in March 2020 when they were forced to close. It's never going to be the same.

I tried to kindly close this out with my comment, " Tomorrow morning, VUL closing update. " It was an olive branch–a nod that VUL is as vulnerable as any university in this post-COVID era.
However, saying you don't care while posting detailed doom responses is still comical. You know the schools I don't care about? The ones you don't see me responding to over and over again. People who spend time projecting doom and gloom tend to be right eventually. I feel it is a wasted way of living. So we will always be at odds, and you will always eventually be right, so here we meet again.
Some may ask why I even respond–it's my guilty pleasure.

I don't wish closure on VUL but they really need to hire people on the Admin / Operations side that have a history of turning around academic institutions. Their current set up is a mix of part-timers and seemingly nepotism hires. The administration tends to ignore systematic issues that come up repeatedly, to the point that even Alumni will not be happy to donate to them even though they like the academic and faculty of the school.

I'm not a student, and I have nothing against the school. But they never answered a single email I ever sent them. If I were interested in becoming a student, that alone would've killed my interest. They literally can't afford to do that.
Considering everything, it's pretty clear that they have some things to fix with finances and communication.

Our student count has decreased more, resulting from three cohorts (A, B & C) merging into two cohorts (A), primarily due to a significant percentage of students not succeeding in Semester 2. As we collectively seek the most efficient and cost-effective paths to obtaining bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees, it's essential to acknowledge a reality often overlooked: the frequent challenges students face in meeting the rigorous demands and pressures required to achieve these academic feats.
This post serves as a balanced perspective on the realities of success and the obstacles that can arise within accelerated programs.
