i was skeptical from the beginning and it looks like most of you have now come to disagree with me, but i stand firm and i'll eat my hat if one of the standard evaluation services equates this to a real Masters.

No guarantees in life, but I think it's a pretty good bet that it will pass evaluation. Spain being a major country and all, I can imagine quite a few students from Spain that came to the U.S. with degrees from ANECA-accredited schools and had their degrees evaluated to U.S. equivalency (thinking Spanish language teachers looking for an opportunity in the U.S.). Failing that, you'd still have a degree from a legitimately accredited University that can be verified.

i'm happy to be proven wrong.
if people can get two masters @ $300, that is HUGE for the purposes of us here on this forum. but i want the actual proof that it's evaluated as such, and not speculation.
i don't think it pans out.

For myself (and I know other people are different), what I care about is whether this will be accepted in Europe. As long as it is, that's the important part. I can see how it might be suspicious to some people, but it's not really any different, IMO, than being able to test out of various degrees already.
IMO, this one looks even sketchier as an MBA program but it's been around for a while and has gotten accredited: https://quantic.edu/mba

The speculation goes both ways at the moment. You speculate that it won't, others speculate that it could. However, the fact that it's accredited gives a bit more weight to the "could" side.
Nevertheless, we need to be clear on what an evaluation is. It's a third-party opinion, and opinions can vary based on the evaluation service. One service may deem it equivalent, and another may not. Even if someone gets an evaluation and it isn't deemed equivalent, the degree is still legitimately accredited in Spain, therefore the degree earned while accredited is legitimate and nothing can change that. Most American employers are not asking for foreign degree evaluations (nor do most know they even exist), so that's not much of a worry. Some will want to know if it's accredited: worker shows that it is accredited and approved by Spain's government, done.
Now, if a person is looking to use the degree to enter an American Doctoral program, things will get trickier as it's unlikely most American schools will take the degree credits without a 3rd party evaluation first. But, some schools evaluate these things on their own, and those schools are more likely to approve it. Lots of variables, but starting from a place of "accredited" is always a good start.

This is amazing. I wish I already had my bachelor's so I could do this right now. I wonder how long the offer is going to stick around.

They basically give you 2 full years to complete it. The email I received upon registration said that, within 30 days of that email, I could tell them my desired start date. I don't know if there is a limitation for a future start date, but they didn't indicate one. You could sign up for the groupon and set a start date in the distant future, perhaps.

I think that they give you six months leeway. It would be funny if you could start, say, in 2030. Then you could always say during the interview that you are working on your MBA.

Others may have a different take on it, but here's how I look at it:
1). If nothing else, I'm finally going to learn some Spanish. This is a can I've been kicking down the freeway for 20 years. Yes, the program is in English, and I literally just started it yesterday, but I took a peek ahead at the final assignment for the Strategic Management module, and it requires evaluating the business model for a website that's in Spanish. Yeah, I know, Google Translate will do the whole page into Anglais, but why not take advantage of the semi-forced opportunity to do things in Spanish? And do the Spanish language course that's included, of course. For me, that alone is probably worth the $249 (I only did the MBA). Again, others may have a different take.
2). So far, poking around Moodle, there's more "meat" to this thing than I thought there would be. It's actually going to require some work. I'm self-employed, as well as a non-executive co-founder of a larger business, and I have aspirations for sitting on some startup boards in the future, so it looks like I might learn a thing or three that might actually be useful.
3). I work in an industry where having BS alphabet soup after your name matters. Even though it's a foreign titulo propio, it's still an MBA. If I actually do finish it all, you can bet your booty I'm adding ", MBA" after my name.
4). If I can get it evaluated for even 6 credits of UL business credit, it will be the final straw I need to sit for the CPA exam in my state. I have zero professional need to do so, but I'm otherwise eligible, so to add ", CPA" after my name would realize a significant personal achievement.
5). If it evaluates out to a giant goose egg, I will have something worth posting here about. Win!

Tempting. Very tempting. I might do that later. I want to get more Sophia courses under my belt at least, before I do that, lest I wind up completing my Master's/MBA before I complete my BA. I don't want it to look like there are shenanigans going on.

How good is the Spanish course? I've seen a lot of terrible language courses over the years and I'm curious if this one is any good.
