I passed Europe since 1945 cold (not by much!)after taking Soviet Union. I ended up looking at the flashcards after and I would say that they would be enough to pass.

Soviet Union, flashcards and read Wikipedia on all of the hints in the exam threads.

You really need to understand the events, how and why they happened rather than memorize the flash cards.
