Suggestions for Certifications to use up Personal Development Funds
#1
Hi everyone!

The organization I work for offers me around $1000 in personal development funds, I have $500 that I need to use up soon before it experies. I previously used this money to get a PMP certification as well as two scrum certifications.

I asked HR and I cannot use this money for school, they can only cover certs or classes.

Any suggestions? It needs to be something aligned with project management or management or communication, something business-y.

I like to get certs instead of just classes because I feel like I get more bang for my buck and it helps me embellish my resume.

thanks!

Any interest in Quality Assurance? ASQ certs are nice. If you want to do more Project Management maybe a Lean Black Belt?

Perhaps some may be of interest.  They have added some new ones recently.  Mostly IT, but also marketing and bookkeeping could be useful.

Maybe an ASCM APICS certification in a supply chain related subject?

I have my CPIM and I didn't think of that.  Dodgy CPIM is more of an early career cert. Not bad, but probably not a big boost. CSCP is very purchasing-specific. CLTD is very logistic-specific. SCOR-P is new(er) but the most interesting to me as a supplier management tool.

Until 2020 there were NCCRS credit recommendations for the CPIM (12 sh grand total from five separately credited modules) and CSCP (3 sh).

Yup. That's how I got most (all?) of my UL credit for my TESU degree. It's a bit of a shame they didn't continue it the partnership or go to ACE.

A holder of these going for a bachelor's today might write up how they were formerly recommended for credit and try UMPI's résumé review.
