Good tips. I use studyspanish.com for my grammar learning, and spanishdict.com also has some lessons and a good learning community but so far I've mainly used it for a quick translator.

I say pick whatever dialect that you think will be most applicable. If you use Rosetta for practicing pronunciation and accent, you will end up with either a Latin American or Spanish accent depending on which one you use, so keep that in mind.

That's a good point about accent. The Spain accent is different than the Latin American accent. The accent I have picked up from my Mexican friends is even different than what Rosetta offers in Latin American. For example, Mexicans seem to pronounce "ll" as a "j" sound in English. They also pronounce their b's and v's like b's rather than as a mix like Rosetta Stone's speakers. I imagine the Spain accent is quite different, too.
