I will tell you that I did a lot of research on both schools and TESC was a whole lot more expensive EC. Keep in mind that EC is waiving the BSHS enrollment fee until 12/31/09 which will save you $895. Even if you have to pay an additional year of SSF at $420 you are still coming out ahead. Then if you renew your SSF within a month of graduation they will credit all or part of your SSF to your graduation fee of $495.
I think TESC used to be a good option for some when they would accept 200 level courses as UL, but now they are no longer doing that. I believe that even though TESC accepts FEMA credits most will be used as free electives and they don't take all of them, so your are limited in using them. So I'm not sure you will get as much bang for your buck at TESC as you think. I believe their SSF is over $2000 per year, so that is huge compared to EC. They have also pulled all their TECEP exams, so you will have to go outside the school to find additional courses / credits to fulfill the degree if you can't find CLEP or DSST exams to fill your needs. Also you will find that customer service isn't a priority for TESC. So if you will need assistance getting through the process or you are in a hurry for help, evals or graduation - TESC isn't your place!
Search for the threads here on TESC, EC and COSC and you will find out how each school works. I looked seriously at TESC for my BSLS but they were more than double the cost of EC.
Good luck. I know it can be daunting to try to get through all the info, but take your time and ask here. I think more people here are TESC or EC students, but you can find info on all 3 schools here.
