I'm set to take clep principles of accounting on this Friday(18/Aug). And from what I've read on this forum I'm slightly nervous. I've been practicing with instantcert flashcards. and I find them very hard to do. I took one set of 70 questions just this morning and I got only 10 right. I'm debating with myself whether to put off the test till later or not. Is instantcert an indicator of how ready I am? I seem to have the basics of financing in my head somewhere; but ratios and formulas--that's something else. The worse is management! I will be lost on this one.
I'll be looking at the sites listed on these messages and thank you so much for them folks.
One good piece of news: I found out yesterday that I passed the DSST principles of finance: 52, it's a B--acceptable.
I have 45 credits now: from CLEP, DSST, and one Latin test from NYU.
15 to go for my associates.
Hi Rome,
Welcome to the board.
The aim of Instantcert is to help you learn the information. How many of the missing words you get right or wrong has little or no bearing on your mastery of the subject. The blank spaces are just a tool to help you stay focused. Some people don't even bother to actually type in the answers, because it is not about learning those missing words: It's about learning the material (questions AND explanations).
If you REALLY don't feel that you will pass this exam on Friday, I would definitely recommend that you postpone it until you feel confident in your knowledge of the subject. It will be worth the extra time if a small delay means you will pass.
Unfortunately, we can't help you make this decision. Only YOU know whether you feel adequately prepared or not. However, if you are still totally struggling with the material and don't feel that you have grasped it yet, I would say that you are probably not ready to take the exam. Personally, I would postpone the exam until I feel comfortable with the vast majority of the material, and until I KNOW I am able to pass.
It's your call in the end though.
Hope this helps,
Snazzlefrag
My name is Rob
