Help!! I am sinking in excuses not to study
#5
Quote:Part of my motivation was to try to show my sons that they could and should get a degree too. Now both of them (only 19 & 21) have dropped out of college and I feel it is all a waste.

I took a couple of IT courses back in Jan 2007 at the local CC that both of my sons were attending. I wanted to see what they were being taught. At the time I had an AA from 20+ years back. They had 52 & 36 credits respectively.

After having a "counselor" tell me that I had to take a remedial math course before enrolling in an algebra class:mad: ..... I found this forum, caught the bug, and completed my BS Business in Dec 2007.

Both of my son's were thoroughly unimpressed with my efforts. Smile Fast forward two years and I am helping my one son complete his BSBA CIS at TESC and am about to help the other son finish his BS from COSC.

Quote:I can't make a decision on what to study, if I should change my major or anything else. I feel lost and incapable when it comes to anything to do with school.

You are trying to squeeze too much out of your Bachelors. This notion of diving into Physics and Calculus is impractical. If, after earning your Bachelors, you want to go forward and earn a Masters in the sciences, then go for it. In the meantime, bang out a couple dozen FEMA credits, a few DSST's and CLEP's and you'll have a BS Liberal Arts. There is nothing wrong with that degree. It is practical. Between the free FEMA's and a few DSST and CLEP's, you are home for a few hundred bucks and graduating in December.

As someone who has earned a BS Business and is pursuing two Masters....In retrospect, I could have easily gotten a BSLA from TESC and not missed a beat.
