Department of Education gone?

Last night, they passed the CR bill, which included around $100 billion in new spending. This was passed under suspension of the rules, requiring a two-thirds vote to pass the House.

A few items were cut from the original bill, including:

• $3 billion for building a new football stadium in D.C.
  
• Pay raises for Congress
  

I would have liked to see them also cut the $12 billion allocated for new submarines, which we don’t need.

We’ll take this as a win, considering DOGE blocked the first bill and secured some small cuts. It’s going to be a long battle against the establishment to achieve any significant spending reductions.

I thought the win was cutting trillions of dollars from Social Security and Medicare?

It would be impossible for Republicans to cut Social Security or Medicare on their own.

All Musk managed to do was cut things like children’s cancer research.
