I don't understand. What's weird about the name? "Global"?

A person's abbreviation at the start of the university name is unusual, and the long formal name "O.P. Jindal Global (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University)" is unusual to American ears.

Interesting. The OP doesn't strike me funny but I am also used to interacting with people from European universities with names that look like alphabet soup (because They include a bunch of initials, not because they are from another language). I guess the other part looks weird, but I've never had an employer ask for my diploma, and I don't think I've seen anyone add the (Institution of Eminence Deemed To Be University) on their LinkedIn.
