American Public University?

Pretty sure it's more common for online-only schools to be thought of as "not real" than it is for anyone to get penalized for attending an online program from a B&M school. But even that stigma is disappearing, especially since 2020.

The 'correct' answer to "Are you from New Jersey?"/"Did you live in New Jersey?" would be something like:
No, I simply took a look at all options available to me and I decided that TESU was the school best suited to helping me meet my goals. I chose them for X, Y, and Z reasons after discussing it over with graduates of TESU.

Or change it to New York/Excelsior, etc., depending on where the degree is from.

Though I never felt the need to specifically state that American Military University is a distance learning only institution, I never tried to obscure that fact either. Nor do I ever state that I've never been to South Africa when I refer to my UNISA studies. Regarding location, silly as it is, I am pleased that my American Military University Diploma and first official transcript state "Commonwealth of Virginia," and not "Commonwealth of West Virginia." On many modern application platforms the location of American Military University/American Public University is auto-filled as "Charles Town, West Virginia." Now Charles is a wonderful name for a university town.

Just to clarify… West Virginia is a State, not a Commonwealth.  There are only four states that are considered a “Commonwealth”.  Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Massachusetts and Virginia.    When West Virginia seceded from Virginia, they decided to join the Union and not retain the commonwealth status.

Still "Charles" is a wonderful name for a university town. I remain amazed at American Military University's growth and success. My in person commencement ceremony was tiny compared to this year's.

American Military University held its commencement ceremony today, at the Army and Navy Club in Washington, DC. I was one of one of seventeen graduates in attendance. Fourteen Master of Arts in Military Studies, two Bachelor of Arts, and one Associate of Arts degrees were conferred.

Mr. Thomas E. Ricks, Military Correspondent for the Washington Post was the commencement speaker.

My family and I had a wonderful time. Today was a bright sunny day in Washington, so my family spent much of the morning taking in the sights.

More than anything, I enjoyed meeting AMU professors and administrators in person. Before today, I had only actually met one of my professors.

Today's ceremony was definitely a motivator for me to keep-on, keeping-on with my MBA studies."

I am amazed at my alma mater's growth and success. My in-person ceremony was tiny compared to the ones of recent years. I was awarded one of only two bachelor's degrees at the in-person ceremony. The reason for the much higher number of master's degrees is that AMU was established to provide another option for commissioned officers to further their Professional Military Education (PME)
