There are thousands of people who have graduated from it since it's been in operation for many decades. It was actually called "The Chemistry and Technology College of D.I. Mendeleev". Rumor has it that he was part of its opening, but I'm not sure.

A valid concern, but I don't think I'd be too worried. At least in theory, the evaluators are supposed to be at least somewhat politically neutral.
If you're anxious anyway, you can always get 2 or 3 evaluations at once. Not the cheapest way to go about it, but nothing says you have to stick with one evaluation company.
