I'm really stretching to think of an exception. Maybe if your end goal is applying for an accounting license with a specific state board that has unusually preferential treatment of programs with specialized business accreditation?
University of Wisconsin-Parkside has a competency-based AACSB bachelor's in business, though they're reportedly not friendly to ACE/NCCRS alt-credit.
It also depends on if the student wants to get a master's degree; many ACBSP- or AACSB-accredited master's programs will give you a waiver on up to like 3 courses if you have an ACBPS- or AACSB-accredited bachelor's degree. So it can save you quite a bit of money to make sure that your bachelor's degree is accredited if at all possible. I definitely would say that this is something to think about if you are deciding between several schools.
