If you fail a TECEP or do not take the TECEP, it will not show on your transcript. Only passed TECEPs show. If you do not take it, you can do this at least twice. However, with TESU now "policing" students and emailing them to tell them that the TECEP they chose doesn't fit their degree plans, it might not be a good idea to do more than that.
One can always pay for a different, and more expensive, TECEP in 2 years (if still a student) to avoid arousing TESU's suspicion. It's still cheaper than an actual TESU class.
