My experience:
The least amount of time I spent on a competency was one day. The most was one week.
i completed 11 competencies and had time to spare, but I had finished my requirements and also added a minor so I stopped.
I am married with children, but didn't have to work while in session. My kids were in school full time and my husband was very supportive of me getting through the program quickly and did almost all the coooking and pretty much everything esle.
I spent the vast majority of my time between 7 am and 9 pm doing school work. I did take a few days off here and there and worked less on the weekends. But I still worked on the weekends.
I have strong test taking skills and write quickly.
I finished with a 4.0 and more A+s than As.
How much time YOU can devote to working on competencies is something only you can figure out. I was lucky to be able to budget time and money to have 2 sessions available where I would be able to work full time on school with few other responsibilities. My goal was to be able to complete one competency a week (but with the hope that I would be able to go a bit faster and finish 10-12 in one session instead of two.)
Also, while it is "YourPace" there are other, real people involved, and sometimes that means waiting for them. If you have a quesion for a professor, they may not answer right away. Grading can take a few days. Etc.
