The way it works for directory purposes at least is that general Harvard University alumni status gets you in the directory. Then your school affiliation(s) will be identified in your listing.
Here is a random example
So Mr. Carleton Davis Pike has a shield for College and a shield for HBS and the degree (or other credentials) will be listed in text.
There are some alumni who hold Kennedy School executive education credentials (but no degree) and are listed with KSGEE (for executive education.) If you click on someone's profile for more info, it will list what program they took. For example one Mrs. Smith is listed as "1988 Senior Managers in Gov"
You might find it interesting that the notorious Harvard name-dropper Tyra Banks actually has alumni status.
