I don't know if I will ever need a business degree, but I need a bachelors ASAP, so I am looking at the BSLA, as that is the easiest and fastest degree I can get right now. I just want to make sure that if for some unknown reason I do need a business degree, I will be able to get one quickly with only needing the 30 UMPI credits (plus 2-4 other business related courses through Study).
You'll be waived from the GEC and the general electives. You will need to complete at least 30 credits at UMPI. You also have to complete all of the major and concentration requirements so it's really more than 30 credits - close to 60. If you want a business degree, I would save the money and time and just get the business degree. The BLS is meaningless if you get a business degree. The BABA at UMPI can be completed in less than a year with ACE credits. There are people on here who started with 0 credits and finished it in 6 months.
You say that GEC and general electives are waved. Does this include American Government, Foreign Language, Creative Decision Making, and Science with Lab, even if you did not take those for your BSLA from EU?
