I actually met the residency requirement through an atypical (without the capstone) 16-credit term: three 3-credit courses, PLA-100, and two e-Packs.
I figured taking core classes (like Data Structures and Computer Architecture) for graded RA credit would be helpful if I later decided to take graduate computer science classes. I'd probably do that as a non-degree student, so I think being able to point to specific RA classes might make things easier.
