I just took, and barely passed the HTYH exam today. I studied from IC and various internet sources to learn about items from the DSST Fact Sheet outline.
I felt that only about 10% of the exam had actual IC questions, and the dsst ouline of topics covered were not exactly the minimum you needed to know about. At one point while taking the exam I actually had to look up to the top of the screen to confirm I was taking the correct exam and not some other health related exam.
Of the 95 questions, I marked 44 as either I simply guessed, or I used best guess. This was the new version of the test with the new scoring system. The test said "Revised 2008" on it. Passing was 400, and I scored a 404. Whew!
I'm telling you this not to scare you, but to tell you that you must know all the material per the dsst outline, PLUS all related and in depth associated material. It almost seemd like the exam was trying to ask obscure and questions to where several answers could apply in an effort to make the test harder,..........rather than trying to test your actual knowledge.
This was my second dsst exam. My first was Personal Finance, which I crushed. This HTYH exam was MUCH more difficult.
