So, to make this work, he signs up for a certificate (looks like a psych certificate actually might only be a course or two away for him) prior to graduation, and then he has 12 months from January 22 (when he started his capstone) to complete it, even though he'll complete the undergrad and be awarded that in June '22, correct?
Not exactly. He has twelve months before he has to do something more to continue his enrollment. He can take as long as he likes to actually earn the certificate...or he can NEVER bother to earn it. It's intended to just be a placeholder so they don't end his enrollment when he graduates. During that 12 months, he can hopefully complete and add the courses he needs for his certification to his transcript.
