Stop trying to talk yourself into it. It is almost always completely worthless. Focus on the BA only. Basically it's a second high school diploma. I'm in IT, and the AA/AS is completely worthless. If there is a very rare unicorn job that requires an associate as a minimum rather than a high school diploma, it is extremely likely you will still be competing against many applicants that have bachelors degrees. I just got through hiring another IT position with no BA requirement and I ended up with 16 candidates cleared by HR who all have BA degrees for a lower level IT position. Not a single person had just AA or high school.
It's way better to spend the time and money that you would have been spent on an AA pursuing IT certifications.
