Saylor Academy is teaming up with Thomas Edison State University (TESU) to offer a degree map for an Associate in Science in Business Administration (ASBA) degree.
According to Saylor, it will discount the Residency Waiver Fee from $2,000 to $1,500. (See “Degree Costs” at the above link.) To get this discount, you need to take at least six of Saylor’s direct credit courses and apply them to your ASBA degree.
It’s free to sign up for Saylor. All you do is enroll in their ASBA program and start taking courses.
Only select Saylor courses offer a direct credit final exam. These are the courses that offer two final exams. One will give you direct credit & needs to be taken with Proctor U (an online proctor). It’s free to make an account with Proctor U, and the exams are $25 each.

I would recommend confirming with your advisor at TESU that this Saylor Program is accepted, and they will discount the Residency Waiver fee. If your TESU advisor has never heard of the waiver, try contacting the Director of Student Financial Accounts.

This is the exact same pricing as Study.com - except that with Study.com, the Residency Waiver is $1800, and the cornerstone is waived; while with Saylor, the RW is $1500, but you have to take the $300 cornerstone.
For both options, for the ASBA, there is no Capstone course, so no TESU tuition.
I still think it's too expensive to get an AA at TESU.

But I just wanted to add, that since I've been looking into these things, I can see that TESU seems a tiny bit more expensive but I find Charter Oak doesn't really "spell out" a clear path to a degree the way TESU does. We are all told to do our own spreadsheets when we join degreeforum, but Charter Oak makes it a tad more difficult than EC or TESU. Just my $0.02

Charter Oak is more difficult because it's more open-ended. For instance, if we're still talking about associate degrees, you need 45 liberal arts credits for the AA but only 30 for the AS. The gen ed requirements are part of that total- so you have to look up where a class counts.
For instance, if you used Straighterline's Business Statistics course to count as your gen ed math, that counts- but it isn't a liberal arts. So, a person would have to keep track of not just the course meeting gen eds, but that you hit the liberal arts requirements too. They have a catalog that lists everything, so it's *there* but I agree it is a little more tricky to do.

Yep - that's why you should always check the dates when posting, or even reading, because things get out of date here as quickly as they're posted.
As a matter of fact, the RW is no longer $1800 - it's now $2200.
