Basically, I can re-take the A+ and Net+ tests and they will show current, but you also keep your "Good For Life" certification. That means that I don't have to keep taking A+, Net+ and a CCNP level test every few years to keep them all, just keep the Cisco one current is enough for me. Once your new A+ and Net+ expire, you still have a valid GFL for them.
