The reason is there's a chance ALEKS won't get approved for the month of May. But they've been getting reapproved many times now, so I think you may have more time later.
Also since you said cost is not an issue, I would recommend against going crazy with ALEKS. Unless you are pretty good with math and find it not too hard, then by all means. But ALEKS is more challenging than other math exams of the same type.
Someone good at math can do like 9+ math credits a day there. Someone so-so at math might take many days to do 3 credits. To give you an idea.
