A lot of government jobs give veterans' preference, but I didn't say it made it easy. It's not easy if you're bad at test taking or you're dumb. You have to pass to get the preference points. Even if you do get the preference points, if you score in the 70s or 80s, you're going to have a lot of non-veterans chosen ahead of you. A lot of veterans do have to learn how to transition from the military environment to the civilian environment. I have no problem with veterans' preference as long as the right candidates ultimately get hired.
