In most colleges, education has been outsourced to publishing companies that produce everything from the textbooks to the exams. Any hint of automation from students and the system freaks out. It annoys me that many of the professors assume that students use these tools to cheat rather than checking to make sure they didn't inadvertently plagiarize. If I weren't so cheap, I would use a system like this to make sure I didn't miss citations.
