I have inquired with Walden on a few occasions while thinking of going back to school. I liked them but then there was something I couldn't quite put my finger on that made me decide to hold off on signing up. What attracted me was that I didn't have to wait long to get started, they catered to me and were always "checking in." Like the previous poster said, not necessarily bad or inadequate education but it is a for-profit school and its admissions practices reflect it.
How people feel about Walden alumni also depends largely on the area you work in. My cousin is doing a master's degree in HR at Walden. She says it's challenging and she likes it more than Phoenix and Grand Canyon (both are grad schools she previously attended but did not complete). I think many certified K-12 teachers like Walden because it gets them the credentials they need for work rather quickly. I also know a couple of therapists who attended Walden and thought the world of it.
I have done lots more research than when I originally looked at Walden. Now that I actually have credits and will possibly get some reimbursement from my employer, I don't think Walden is the route for me. I personally prefer an online program at a brick-and-mortar. But it's possible that Walden has some unique features that are hard to find elsewhere.
