If you are looking at taking actual classes rather than testing out. You might want to have a look at Fort Hays before you jump. They are very generous with CCAF credits and have an extensive networking curriculum. They are more affordable than Excelsior and allow up to 65 transfer credits. They are a state college in Kansas. It isn't a good fit for people who want to test out of more classes, but there are very few information technology exams. The best solution might be a Bachelor of General Studies with a concentration in information and networking at Fort Hays.

I think you will find Excelsior very stingy when it comes to transfer credits in their Technology program. They offered me only 24 of my 59 credits toward an electrical degree, which was my career field in the Air Force. If you choose to jump straight into the Liberal Arts program at Excelsior, you will most likely get all of your credits. You can do a concentration in information technology in the liberal arts program if you do a BS. You will need 21 credits in information technology for it to appear as a Area of Focus on your transcript. It will not be listed on your degree.
You may also consider Thomas Edison. They seem to be a little more flexible than Excelsor and many on here choose them over Excelsior.
Again, the biggest benefit of the big three, Charter Oak, Thomas Edison, and Excelsior is their liberal acceptance of exam and transfer credits. If I were taking actually classes I would choose another option.
As a side note, if you are looking for a good entry level IT option, consider passing your A+, Network+, and Security+ before you get out. Then look into government contract jobs. You will still have an active clearance making you a valuable asset. Down the road, you may consider leveraging your security background with networking to pad your resume in the direction of cyber security.
