Quick background: I'm a homeschooling mother of 4. While looking ahead to my daughter's high school years, I learned about CLEP and realized I could use it to finish my own degree (I took a 15-year break from college to have kids! )
Thanks to great info on this site, I went into my first test this morning feeling confident. I took A&I Lit, which I read was supposed to be easy, and scored 77 with 36 minutes left over!
My thoughts on the test: The only prep work I did was borrow the REA book from the library and take both practice exams. I scored much lower- 62/63 on those- so I was surprised that the actual test score was higher, but I definitely felt like the actual test was easier than the REA tests. So easy that I felt like I was cheating to walk away with 6 credits.
Now I have to decide what to take next...
Thanks to all who contribute here to help others through the process!
