Empire State has some interesting courses, but they are pretty writing-intensive and require a lot of posting to discussion boards, i.e., they will take a lot of time, and I don't think you have that sort of time, especially since they make you take a course dedicated to planning your concentration. I have previously advised people to consider them for courses but the feedback I have gotten has changed my mind- not because their courses are bad, simply because there are faster and less expensive options.
You have a decision to make here, but, IMHO, a course of action that takes longer and is more expensive isn't the best one for you.
Yeah the 32-required credits taken at the ESC campus really turned me off, otherwise I would have gone for it. TESC seems to accept a TON of testing out and it would be feasible for me to finish within a year. ESC seems like it would take me 1.5-2 as they are not flexible and I'm juggling school with a full time schedule.
The advisor from TESC told me they have 12 semesters and they start every month, so I can apply my FA and get started. Only problem is, I think I only got 5,500/year from PELL, so I'm really wondering how that works out. I want to reserve that for classes that cannot be tested out of. What a HUGE headache our country's educational system is. I'm trying so hard to figure out everything I test out of. She said once I enroll, then academic advisement is available to me. Stuck on the fence. I have no idea how you guys all figure out your academic plan as there doesn't seem to be a clear cut way and the big 3 generally aren't going to tell you how you can test out, from my knowledge.
