Suggestions and Help Needed!
#11
Great ideas! I'm going to print out Yoda's quote and put up in front of me so I see it every day. Judy, I think you are right about the guilt adding up. Last week I broke from norm and we took the kids to dinner and to see Green Hornet and I worked on my paper until we left and then made them rush home so I could finish it up and submit. Not a very great fun filled night. We could have done so much more, but I guess something was better than nothing.

The kids say I spend too much time on the computer and some days I feel like I'm glued to it. Thanks again and I'm sure with the support from here I will muddle through this. If I need a swift kick in the behind I'm sure you will take turns!

Thanks!

Sitting here chuckling to myself as a mental vision pops into view....an old time, slap-stick movie where two people are in a room and one kicks the other, then they both turn around and the other one kicks the one who first kicked, and it went on for a little while.

Can't remember the particulars but suspect it would be something like The Three Stooges.

If you get kicked, I would be next in line for that kick to keep on track and motivated!

Keep on keepin' on....you are almost there!

Do you have a laptop? I take mine all over the house and outside on days that I can. (not when it's snowing lol) I work from home and also keep a cordless phone near me. If I didn't break things up like this, I would go nuts.

You CAN do this. I find sometimes taking baby steps gets me going when in a funk. I set a short work period maybe 15 min, then a short reward period maybe 10 min. If I just keep doing this I find eventually the work time gets longer and the reward time shorter.

Reward yourself with Mom things that feel good read to the kids or play a quick game or just cuddle. this way it is a reward for you and the kids.

As for taking a break I have done that (sort of) since last May. I did take Praxis exams and a short(24 hr) course but other then that I have not done any "School" stuff since May. I did apply for my MAT and today I started the studying and I feel I am ready to really get back into it. So sometimes a break is just what the Dr. ordered.
