Do Double Majors Matter?

Whoa, that's quite a difference between 6 and 7. So basically you do 6 credits a semester and graduate after three years at around $887 a semester (assuming I'm not missing something)? Works for me.

It's one of the few hidden gems in DL because it's a B&M university. Total MA is about 5 grand.
I thought you might like it because of the concentrations you listed, and because you can complete it from anywhere in the world.

Kyle I too looked at business education as a waste of time when I was in school. I realize now that it is essential for any manager to have this knowledge, either acquired at school or painfully through trial and error. The latter option costs your employer greatly or maybe costs you if you own your own business. I got a taste of it while doing some clep tests for macro,micro,management and marketing. Once i had those done I figured i wasn't far from a bs in bus admin so i went for it.

She is right about the no bachelors thing too. I am extremely good at what i do and i entered the industry during the dot com boom so luck and knowledge helped out. Now I want to finish my degree and get an MBA so that one day I'll have the knowledge needed to be part of an executive leadership team or run my own business.

Alright, because I don't consider business education a waste of time and because so many people seem so adamant about it I decided to look into it. I was initially encouraged because I already have micro and macro economics, plus business statistics, but then I saw they only have around 9 free electives. If I do that, then I lose access to all the FEMA credits I could use and I lose a good chunk of the history tests I've already taken, unless I double major, in which case I'll have to take well over 120 units. Either way, my degree plan is delayed significantly because of all the new tests and courses I'll have to take.

Maybe there is some way to minor in business, or maybe I can take tests and classes in my spare time while working toward my masters...

What if you hurry up and finish your single major now. Then, take the next few months to a year to complete all the other business tests you need. Once you've got those, re-enroll and get your second degree? I don't know anything about this, so there may be difficulties that I'm not considering. I do think that it would probably be more expensive.

I'm about to wrap up my testing, but DS and DH are still studying with a ways to go. DH wants to get a psych degree from TESC and he wants me to study with him. It'll be a while before DH gets to this point because he is taking his sweet time with testing, but I was thinking of taking all the psych tests with him. If I do that, I would probably try to get a 2nd bachelor's from TESC. I would be out 2800 bucks, but I think that if I've got the credits, why not? It wouldn't benefit my career in any way, but who knows?

P.S. I will be the first one to admit that most of the stuff I've learned while testing will never be of any use to me professionally. However, the business stuff really is helpful. Not all of it, but quite a bit.

Now that I am getting closer to having my business administration concentration done, I will seriously look differently at job applicants with business backgrounds. I used to think that it didn't matter, and I still think that experience is much greater than any school, but for an entry level job, I'm not sure that I would now consider someone without some sort of business degree.

That way I can get started on my masters ASAP. I'm pretty sure when you're going for a 2nd major (and not a double major) you need to get 24-30 "new" credits that weren't used for your first major, but I will probably have to do that anyway. I don't think there's anything else that could stop this from working...
