Passed Ethics Theory and Practice
#1
Hey everyone i am back in the loop of testing after a long long break.I went back home for a couple of months and took one exam a month before that.
I have received 38.50 credits for the engineering classes that i passed 6 years back.Apart from these i have 46 credits from CLEP and Dantes which i took from Dec 2005 to April 2006.
I now have a total of 85 credits towards Liberal Studies.I took the Ethics in America test last week and hopefully i will pass that.I took ECE Ethics today and scored B.
The test was very very long and since this was my first ECE exam i felt pretty overwhelmed by the whole thing.3 hours and so much to read and concentrate on. I finished just in time and felt exhausted after the test.
I used Instantcert,my previous knowledge from the DSST version(for that one i had used DSST guide and instantcert) and ECE practice exams.
There were no questions at all about Epicurus,Epictetus,Socrated and i was surprised about that.
There were many questions about Kant,Hume,Hobbes, relativism and nihilism.
I studied for one full week and am glad this is over and done with.
I need to take 9 more exams to complete my degree...assuming that i have passed Ethics in America.I need mostly all upper level except for Math/Stats and English.
The next one i plan to take is Civil War.
I am glad to be back in action on this forum.I do repent wasting a lot of time SadI could have been done by now...
Thanks for your support everyone,i read a lot of posts about what to study etc before taking the last 2 exams and it was of tremendous help.
As for Instantcert i don't know what i would do without them..i can no longer even think about taking an exam without their study guide.

Welcome back from your break. Don't beat yourself up that you could be finished. Maybe you needed a break. You accomplished a lot in such a short time! Thank you for the feedback for the Ethics test. It's a big help. That is what I am studying for right now. Good luck on the rest of your tests.

Thanks so muchSmile Dawn you will do well on Ethics. It's not a difficult exam..only lengthy.
I started reading the instantcert guide for Civil War this morning.I assumed that i will get interest when i start reading but the content is pretty dry and boring for me...i guess mainly because i have almost no previous knowledge about it.
I plan to use Instantcert and KenBurns tapes only.Do you think that would be sufficient?

That was all I used plus I had a good site that made a timeline for Civi War. My biggest help was making my own flashcards about each battle in the exam guide. Snazz has good feedback for this one.

I did not use the Ken Burns tapes due to time constraints. I read Civil War for Dummies, both sets of Sparknotes ( one for Civil War, one for Reconstruction), and googled a lot of terms. The Google searches often jumped me to Wikipedia, which has an excellent breakdown of the Civil War.

As for the test itself, my version had 104 questions. They were heavy on the generals and the battles, as well as why battles turned out as they did. The events leading up to the war and Reconstruction were there, but not covered as much. Know what happened to Jefferson Davis, and what Custer did in the war. Also familiarize yourself with the Wilmot Proviso, and the Kansas Wars. IC and google should do this for you.

Beware that there several versions of the test, and that yours my differ. Instantcert is invaluable-really focus on the war years and battles., if you want my opinion.

I got a 65 with a reasonable, not crazy amount of studying-about five weeks of very on and off studying, mainly with Instantcert.

I am sure you will do well-good luck!Smile

Best Regards,
Mike

Thanks a lot Mike..that info was very useful I will try to get the dummies book.I have the tapes with me and plan to watch one a day. There are some videos on learner.org which i plan to watch.
I have been reading since morning and realize this is going to be a tough exam for me.Looking for terms on google is helping a lot and yes wikipedia is excellent as always.
Thanks again Mike,
