BTW, I'm taking tech writing at the end of the month...what was the surprise?

I am the proud new owner of 6 more credits! I blew Intro to Computing out the water with a 468! Technical Writing caught me off guard a little but I still managed a 54 somehow. So Tech Writing fills in my remaining Humanities, ECE Cultural Diversity is required, and it leaves me with 12 general ed hours left. ALEKS Stats is still in my thoughts Jennifer (:roflol: ) and I'm still thinking Natural Science and Astronomy on Tuesday. Like I said I have off of work through Tuesday so I'm going to give myself 8 hours a day until Tuesday. Do you guys think this is enough time? For the record I took Biology at my B&M school in 2006 and made a B but I'm not sure what I remember. Any suggestions are appreciated! :willynilly:

Once your done playing with those Nat Sci Credits ..maybe circle back 'round to Soc Sci. I think you could blow through Sociology and Psychology. They will both compliment your cultural diversity exam. (If you take the psychology exam make sure you review the section on the brain.) Have you had a moment to look at your transcript as Cook mentioned you could do intro to law enforcement or criminal justice? Whichever compliments what you already have. That would be another relatively easy nine credits!

Have you considered DSST Management Information Systems? With your computer background it may be a short review of the MIS and computer systems flashcards. You obvioulsy already have a strong foundation on the subject matter. Added three credits!

Another option DSST Lifespan Developmental Psychology. I read on the boards that one isn't too bad. Maybe someone else can comment?

Thanks! There really wasn't a surprise on the Technical writing exam as much as I simply underestimated it. Everything on this site --> Online Technical Writing: Online Textbook--Contents covers what you need to know. Technical Writing just isn't a strong knowledge area for me I guess.

The problem with the DSST MIS course is that TESC considers it a business course so it won't apply to my general ed requirements. Intro to LE falls into Human Services so that won't work either. CJ will work but I already have that one from a course I took in a B&M school. I'm still trying to figure out the final 6 unknowns but Intro to Sociology and Psychology are options for sure. I was thinking about Humanities as well which is a 6 hour course. IF I pass Natural Science on Tuesday it leaves me with the ECE Cultural Diversity and 6 unknowns.....cheersmate :willynilly:

Got it thanks! There may still be a slim possibility I can wedge Astronomy into my plan but I'm not sure. It depends on how much is covered by the Natural Science material. :hurray:

Well last night I decided to open up a Peterson's exam since I was doing so good in my studies. I'm grasping concepts that I remember from 2006 and steadily rolling along. I look at the first question and it's nothing I recognize from my current studies OR my studies from 2006. It concerned me a bit but I shrugged it off and moved to the next question. The next question was the same.....then the next....and so on through question number 5. Needless to say I'm frustrated and disappointed so far...I'm not sure if Peterson's is just well beyond the actual difficulty of this test or I am in need of some serious readjustment to my studies. :ack:

Peterson’s practice tests – The printable test is different than the online tests, so there are a total of 4 tests available. The printable test was similar to the REA tests and the online tests were much harder; however, the material covered was useful for the real exam. I would recommend working through the CLEP Success materials first. That should help with these more difficult practice tests.

Maybe it was just the first few questions. Lots of times when I start a test I feel like the first few questions are Greek. :ack: I just mark them and move on. usually by the time I go back to them I am more relaxed and can figure out the answers based on other questions.

You can do this just don't give up.

Thanks for the kind words. I just got finished with the Biology section of the REA Natural Sciences exam and I only missed 7 out of 60. I'm not sure how REA compares to the actual exam either but that seemed pretty good to me. After I reviewed the ones I got wrong I knew exactly why and learned from it. I looked over the rest of the test and Chemistry is definitely my weak point. Astronomy was fairly easy as was the Earth Science parts. I'm going to have to get better grounded in Chemistry if I'm going to finish this. In the REA book it's the second largest section of the test. :ack:

I sure hope REA and Speedyprep are similar to the actual test. I just looked at Peterson's again and it is out there well beyond anything I've read up to this point. REA, Speedyprep, PBS.org and the other sources I'm using seem to take an overview of this topic. Peterson's is way more in depth. I though Natural Sciences was more of an overview of all the different topics. Hmmmm...
