Took DSST Astronomy this morning and got a 69! IC is perfect for this course as well as the feedback section. Now all I have left is my Penn Foster final, ECE Cultural Diversity and an unknown. Yep I'm still considering ALEKS Stats for the unknown but it might just be easier to take one more CLEP/DSST. cheersmate

Thanks! Today was a good day with a few exceptions. I registered for my ECE Cultural Diversity test and was told I have to wait 3 business days before I can call Pearson to schedule the exam. Then as I was searching the forums for people's experiences with Pearson I ran across several stories of really long waits to schedule the exam (from 1-3 months!!). I simply cannot wait this long to take the exam because it will push me past the dates for graduation in June which is April 1st (this date has always been my focal point). My solution is to call them as soon as Excelsior sends my info in and let them know that I'm willing to be placed on a "no show" list and if someone doesn't show up I'll rush over and take the test right then.
My second problem is worse than the above one because I'm not sure I have a solution. I've taken all my Penn Foster exams and I faxed my proctor form today. I spoke to Mary Beth (who is awesome BTW) and she said it takes about a week to approve the proctor, and a week to get the exam to the proctor. Then I start realizing that it will take a few days to mail the test back, a week to grade the test (according to tthis forum), a few days for the transcripts to get to ACE, a few days for ACE to transcript the course, a few days for ACE to mail off the transcripts to TESC, then God knows how long it will take TESC to evaluate the credit.
This is well beyond my safe zone for graduating in June (remember the April 1st deadline). I'm going to call Mary Beth tomorrow and beg and plead that Penn Foster allow me to pay for overnighting the test to my proctor (who is available anytime to give the exam), then pay to have the test overnighted back to Penn Foster. I'm hoping that by pleading my case they will try and expedite the process. Penn Foster is essentially my last course for my degree and a required one from TESC. Mary Beth is a very nice individual and has always been very nice and helpful on the phone. I hope it's possible because I'm really worried about this one. Honestly I'll pay to overnight this course every step of the way to get this done. :willynilly:

Now remember you just have to get all your info to TESC before April 1st they do not have to have everything posted on your academic Evaluation. When I wanted to get my AA in the Sept 08 graduation class I took my last CLEP on June 12th I them applied for Graduation on June 13th and the deadline was July 1st. I was worried when my transcript was not posted on the 23rd of June so I called the college board number to check on it, they told me it had been sent to TESC on the 21st. So I then called TESC and said I needed my transcript updated so I could apply for a job(I was getting approved by the board of ed to Sub and they only have meetings once a month) Tesc put my test on my eval and approved my graduation within 10 days. So don't give up and don't drive yourself nuts.:willynilly: As long as you finish all the work and apply by April 1st you should be fine for June graduation

I'm definitely applying for graduation as soon as the last 3 credit hours are completed. Most of the credits will be in by then so it will only be about 3-9 of them hanging around in limbo. I sure hope you are right. I'm still going to talk to Mary Beth tomorrow and see if it's still possible to overnight some of the stuff at my cost. That will cut 2 weeks off the process. Thanks! :willynilly:

Ok I think I have my last exam figured out. Instead of doing the Aleks stats (which i think would take more time) I believe that I'm going to take the DSST Environment and Humanity: Race to Save the Planet. It looks like an interesting subject that isn't too involved and would only take me a few days of studying at the most. What are your thoughts? cheersmate

Just wanted to chime in with a bit of encouragement.
My last 3 credits I took at another college and they lost my faxed transcript
three times. I was in a panic thinking that this one class that I had completed months ago would push my entire graduation back. I called TESC and told them what was going on. They put a note on my file saying that there was another transcript coming and put my file on the bottom so that it wouldn't get kicked out. It worked!
You know, TESC seems to get a lot of bad rap....but
every time I have needed something they have come through for me.
Good luck!
PS - Careful on the Cultural Diversity. I studied hard for that and the test was unexpectedly difficult...could be that I was out of PC for that day though

Thanks Annegirl. I too have had nothing but good dealings with TESC so far and when I'm ready to file for graduation I will call and speak to someone and let them know about the 4 different sources of credit heading their way.
I have a small dilemma but I think I have it figured out. My ALEKS courses are all now on my ACE transcipt awaiting my $40 to have them sent to TESC. Since my Penn Foster exam is not complete it's obviously not on my ACE transcript yet (but will be once it's done). I'm thinking of paying the $40 and having ACE send at least all of the ALEKS courses over so that TESc can evaluate them then once Penn Foster is done paying the $15 and having it sent again. My reasoning is that TESC evaluates every course so I would rather hit them with ALEKS right now (well in advance) as oppossed to hitting them with all 4 courses at once. Plus just in case the transcript gets lost, misplaced, etc. there is a second one on its way in about a month.
