soupbone Wrote:"ALEKS - Int Alg, Trig, Intro to Stats, Stats for Behavioral Sciences - Done... I wish they had more ACE approved classes than the Math stuff."----> I completely agree with this. What a gold mine someone found here.
I'd love it if their Chem or even their Accounting courses got ACE approved. I do like the ALEKS learning environment (and especially the price!) One improvement I think they could make is to preface the modules with a little How-To section before throwing the problems at you. True, its just as easy to go through the Explain button a few times to get the hang of the problems, but I think it would make a world of difference to preface the problems with examples, or even talk a little about *why* you're doing things the way they're supposed to be done.
*Edit - for some reason I thought they had Bio as well, but I was wrong... Fixed the post to reflect this...*

Trig was quick and easy for me... Well, quick up to the last 3% I needed for my assessment, and at that point all the modules turned kinda ugly for me. :p Its also only 119 modules total, so its a relatively short class compared to the Algebras.
I just checked my ACE account this morning and it shows "APPROVED - SUBMITTED TO ACE FOR PROCESSING". I wonder if I should screen shot everything, save it then move on to Intermediate Algebra. I'll say this I didn't finish the course until after 2am and now it's 10am and it's already listed as Approved. That's a pretty quick turn around. What do you guys think?

I've inquired about this in the past with ACE customer service, and their response was that once it says APPROVED-SUBMITTED TO ACE FOR PROCESSING on the transcript, they have all the needed information for the class, and you're good to move on. Other people on the board have had this experience as well.
I've followed their advice, and did this between my Stats for Behavioral Sciences and Trig classes, and I experienced no issues.

Thanks TMW, I did take a screenshot and moved on.
I'm posting because I found the free month offered to homeschoolers mentioned previously at the following URL:
Homeschool 1 Month Trial Request
It's for new users only but I suspect you can work around that. It should allow some of us who have not started (or are willing to bend rules) to get 3 cost-free credits :-P
Besides, we're all homeschooled aren't we!

I had tried the trial request when I initially started and got turned down... Ah well, such is life...

I know I set this up right but I cannot figure out how to log into my master account. I guess it's possible that I did something wrong but when I registered it was as an independent user. Was this correct? I'm trying to move on to Intermediate Algebra...hilarious
I found it...ALEKS does a good job of keeping it somewhat secret.

Ditto that! I thought ALEKS kept track of completed courses. Dude, I would have CRIED. hilarious
@CookdeRosa: Does Business Stats duplicate the other two? I thought they all duplicated, but I am probably wrong on that.

Yeah I don't like the two-login system they've got, but meh for $20/month I expect a little hassle.

Well I took screen caps of every single page plus saved all the reports from ALEKS. With it showing on my ACE transcripts as APPROVED - SUBMITTED TO ACE FOR PROCESSING I'm going to start Intermediate Algebra. I hope nothing weird happens. hilarious

I decided to fork over another twenty bucks for the Intermediate Algebra and I just finished the assessment with 80%! I'm so glad I decided to take these. I knew my Math skills were above average (I still hate Math) from my courses taken at my B&M University but it's amazing how much I remembered. I will admit I had forgotten a little more on the Intermediate Algebra but 80% isn't too bad. I now have papers all over my room that I used for scratch paper but this was certainly worth it. Now the question is should I go for PreCalc or Trig? I did alright on these classes in high school but it's been a while since I've used either of them. Thanks for all the help! I'm now 6 credits closer to my goal! hilarious
