Twas a pretty a good year
#1
This time of year I like to look back and take stock of, and be thankful for, that which I am blessed with, what I have accomplished, and what my goals are for 2010. I'd be curious to see what anyone else may care to share:
  • I turned 51 and am as healthy and fit as I've been in many years (knock on wood)
  • My family (wife, 3- and 6-year-old daughters) are healthy, happy and well-provided for
  • I remain gainfully employed in my industry of choice (IT) which, in this day and age, is a lot to be thankful for in itself
  • I passed the very challenging PMP (Project Management Professional) certification exam, as well as two additional highly-regarded IT-related certs from Cisco
  • I made the commitment to, and proceeded with, enrolling in college to pick up where I left off 30-some-odd years ago when I dropped out as a confused and directionless young man
  • I have passed seven CLEP/DSST exams thus far and counting, and am proceeding full steam ahead thanks in no small part to the wisdom, knowledge and support I have found with the good people in this forum
  • I finally took up training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on my 50th birthday after thinking about it way too long, and 11 months and 2 weeks later I earned my Blue Belt under one of the most highly-regarded practitioners in the world
So, yes my friends, twas was a pretty a good year and I look forward to an even better 2010. In the meantime, I wish everyone here a healthy, safe and joyous Holiday Season...

Or happy Christma-Hanu-Kwansa, to be politically correct... Big Grin

Well done. I am a somewhat younger guy who has found alot of support and great people on here as well, and I'm pursuing a degree in a field I am highly interested in after some of the same college confusion and lack of direction.
Life is good.
And don't forget festivus -
