Desired asynchronous courses not available at TOCC for Spring, as the classes filled up very quickly. Passed Civil War and Holocaust exams on SDC in the meantime.

jg_nuy, I just wanted to say that I very much enjoy reading the updates on your kiddo. Please keep them coming! I love the mixed and eclectic nature of his courses and degree choices. Who knows what a combo degree of history and computer science could lead to? It's kind of what we try to replicate here in our homeschool: take classes that the kids find interesting and enjoyable while tweaking the provider and other sources to get the trifecta of affordability, a marketable degree and having fun in the process. Good job!
(Not to derail this thread, but, for example, our daughter has taken a break from things I want her to do so that she can focus exclusively on drawing animals with colored pencils, and she has arm twisted me into signing her up for Amy Howard Art on Patreon instead of memorizing her multiplication tables... Meanwhile our teenage son is taking a Python coding course on Coursera Plus not for credit and will take the Amateur Radio Technician License exam=Ham radio next month. Not everything has to be for credit, and we have many years left before getting that degree).
I wanted to ask though: That is a very unusual choice of community college. What is the reason for that? Is there something about that CC that we should all know? Is a well kept secret? And could he not get all of his history credits from study.com? Please spill the beans.

Will keep giving the updates as long as he allows. The community college is on the list of cheap sources of credits (little more than $34 per credit) and they have Native American history courses, which he needs for the Non-Western History portion for the history AOS. Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East are also acceptable, but none of the history courses on study dot come cover it.
Very interesting learning options for your kids - love it. Our youngest is doing dual enrollment, but for anything other than the college classes, it is very self-led and self-paced. Every piece of learning counts!
