The downside to WGU is that they don't take old credits.

This is a certainty that none of my credits above would be considered for transfer by WGU?

From what I've seen, WGU accepts associate's degrees as block transfer, so you should get credit for a lot of classes. Which degree?

Why wouldn't I just apply directly to BAS? I see the website just says coming soon and mentioned having an AAS etc.. I guess maybe because it says coming soon and isnt an option you can select initially.

I didn't even really understand what TESU was until I just looked it up either, so many options. Much more complicated than I thought it would be initially. Really appreciate all of the comments from everyone.

Technically the BAS isn't part of the UMPI YourPace program (yet). The method I told you of is a commonly used work around here to make it possible. I'm sure it is also the reason they'll likely make it a direct option under YourPace eventually; as we've had many forum members opt for this degree this way. Up until a few moths ago there was a very quick and extremely low cost option of obtaining an AAS through a CC called Pierpont (alas, no more - new rules, costs went way up). However, you already have an AAS, so you might as well make it work some magic for you now  

And as I said any GenEds you may be missing are easily (quick and cheap) to obtain. When you get your evaluation complete come back here and tell us what it shows you're missing for GECs (what they call GenEds), or even find yourself shy a few technical credits for the BAS and we'll point you in the right direction.

That's a solid choice for degree program. If you decide to go with WGU, make sure to complete any transfers before you enroll.

I also recommend researching on reddit to determine which courses are easier on Sophia vs. Study.com vs. WGU.

Yes, so the general education should be waived.

WGU doesn't like to accept credits that are over 5 years old.

In CS and IT area courses. WGU has not applied this five year rule in general education, business, etc.

In addition to the WGU BSIT and/or UMPI BAS with a minor or two/three of your choice, you may also want to take a look at the TAMUC BAAS options, they've added a couple more concentrations that are interesting to say the least... I think the TAMUC on a resume would look best as you're in Texas, but that's just me, I would highly suggest looking at them as a first choice though, and then have WGU/UMPI as your second backup options...

I would look at TAMUC (now ETAMU). You can apply and send your transcripts for evaluation to see how your credits transfer. I had an AAS that was from 1997 and all of those classes transferred. I did not pay for an application fee from TAMUC until I registered for my 1st classes.

I also went ahead and applied at TAMUC after giving it a 2nd look....

Missed this before my last reply, I actually have given TAMUC some more thought and went ahead and applied. Honestly this is just to check a box incase one day it becomes required. I have been an my current job for 20 years and have a pretty sweet gig. This is an insurance policy more than anything, and if this goes well I do plan to knock out the MBA w/ WGU next.
