Yet another "help me narrow this down" thread
#1
Here we go again. Some background info on me...

- 45-year-old empty nester. Been in IT for 25+ years, mostly in desktop support/network administration.
- Current WGU BS Cybersecurity/Info Assurance student. (Almost done, but halfway considering a switch over to BSBA IT Management. lol)
- Most recently a sales engineer for the biggest networking vendor out there (rhymes with "disco"). It was my first time doing sales or anything really "business"-y. I was not great at it but I think I could be, and that side now intrigues me, so...
- Want to further my security education on the policy/business/legal side
- Would likely do best with a more "traditional" structure. CBE has not been great for me.
- Would rather not mess with GRE/GMAT

My thoughts go in one of three directions: IT/cyber-focused MBA, business/policy-focused MS in cyber, or cyber-focused Master of Legal Studies. (I REALLY love the idea of MLS, but I've seen where folks think it's useless and have read through a similar thread here.) Wondering if any of y'all have any thoughts or suggestions on which lane to consider more heavily, particular programs in any of these lanes, or even something I haven't necessarily thought of yet.

(FYI, my current top choices are the policy track of GaTech's online MS in Cybersecurity, Cleveland State University College of Law's MLS in Cybersecurity & Data Privacy, and UTK's MS in Business Cybersecurity. And despite my not really loving CBE, coming back to WGU for the MSCSIA or MBA in IT Management are also on the table. lol)

Any thoughts?
Current: WGU BS, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance (086/122 credits)

Hello:
The person in this thread did the MSML at WGU - similar experience as the MBA: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid377514

I’ve seen folks who are comfortable with WGU do both the MSML + MBA, as some of the classes from the MSML carry forward into the MBA.

Best of luck!

Well, you can always do the Accelerated BSIT/MSIT degree from WGU, if you want to change your degree program around... I would either complete the degree and then go for the MSIT, or change the program around so you get this BSIT/MSIT combo. Another option is get a different masters at WGU altogether after you're done, the MSML is a very good option as it has the ACBSP programmatic/secondary accreditation (yes, the same as their MBA offering), not everyone has to be a general MBA , some like to be a specialist or major in something other than Business Admin.
