The 100 Most Popular Accredited Online Colleges for 2024

The 100 Most Popular Accredited Online Colleges for 2024

https://www.onlineu.com/online-schools/most-popular

Some notes:

1. Usually, we don't recommend for-profit colleges because of the stigma associated with them, and they aren't any cheaper, faster, or better than other options. However, we have had some people here on DF, attend for-profit colleges such as Walden University and Strayer University.

2. There are some diamonds in the rough on this list, such as the University of the Cumberlands which has $220 per credit tuition and allows 75% transfer credit including Sophia.

3. Pretty much any college can be hacked if it allows alternative credits. It's a matter of time and money whether it's worth it compared to other options.

Hmm SNHU & WGU, just wow... they're still neck & neck, last time I mentioned this was last year... So many students, they're doing well with their competency degree options with partnerships and expanding them with state based affiliates. Just less than a thousand students separate the two institutions...

if we talking about per credit hour prices, Fort Hays has been expanding their online offerings. Their graduate programs are cheap ($320/ch). Not fast, but cheap.

Their UG per credit is also pretty affordable @ $240+ per credit hour

They've got online majors in CS, business, MIS, geoscience, social work, and even music

It's interesting how many of the top 15 are for profit schools. Several don't have the best rep and some people have struggled finding work with those degrees based on their social media comments.

Yeah, because it's based on the number of students enrolled online. If we look at their recommended rates, a lot of those for-profit schools fall to the bottom, while schools like ASU, UA, UIUC, and UF rise to the top.
