MS in Enterprise Analytics from Amberton?

I'm looking the this program offered by Amberton University 'MS in Enterprise Analytics'. I was just wondering if anyone else on this forum had taken this program and what their experience was. The tuition is cheap, but I want to make sure it's a good value before I register/pay.

I'm pretty sure this program gets a lot of looks from people on this board. The only drawbacks are (1) the name "Enterprise" on a degree is unusual (what is this the Star Trek Enterprise LOL) and (2) Amberton, while a legit institution, is very low key and totally unknown to most even within Dallas (where I used to live). Otherwise, I looked at their syllabus and it looks ok, however it doesn't really focus on the newer data science tools like R and Python (I seem to remember in the outline they use Stata).

I think it is an ok option for some people, although I would take a look at Georgia Tech (MS Analytics) and Eastern U (MS Data Science) first before considering this program.

We've people from this board and the sister board graduate from Amberton, not that particular program though. Reviews are pretty good, it really depends on the student, some may want another institution for different reasons. I completed my MBA at Amberton. The MS in Enterprise Analytics came out while I was a student there. There's an analytics course in several different fields. This isn't an IT focused analytics degree. It's definitely a business focused degree as Amberton doesn't offer IT or CS programs. They focus heavily on business and a bit on counseling. One great thing about Amberton is that you can see the syllabus before you register for a course. You have a pretty good idea what you're in store for during the 10 week term. You'll also know which textbook you're using. I found this helpful so I could order them new, used, or digitally from Amazon and have them arrive before the session arrived. They also have a schedule for their courses that you can see online which helps with course planning.

Lol. I agree. I wonder why they named it that over business analytics or just plain analytics ? What goes through the minds of the people that make those kinds of decisions.

Actually, it may be their own way of explaining what type of analytics this is geared towards... Business, Commerce, Enterprise is another word with a similar meaning, basically the synonym... And no, it doesn't mean Enterprise as the Rent-A-Car nor the Starship, I think they want to sway from using the same terminology as the bigger or main players for these type of degrees out there to make it a tad unique... You can see that they have MA Professional Development and MS Human Relations & Business as other degree offerings, I would have suggested to name it differently for those degrees, but it's just a name, the content or knowledge and learning gaps it fills is what matters.
