Update 2: My Capstone assignment is submitted and now we await the results. The submission period ended January 17th. That was my final obligation, which means, if I passed, I will officially be a Harvard Kennedy School alumni member and have my Public Leadership Credential. Once I get an update, I'll upload the final transcript and the credential so you can see it!

Congrats! HKS alumni status is definitely a great bonus!

Does the HKS alumni status also extend to general Harvard U alumni status? Are you able to attend meetings/events of Harvard U alumni and have access to the facilities/library?

From my understanding there is no general Harvard alumni status, they are all different based on the various school you attended in the system. This leads to alumni status through the executive education programs at HKS. You can attend events, but no one has access to the facilities and libraries unless they are in a degree program and you lose those privileges after you graduate from said degree program.

There is Harvard University alum status in addition to school-specific alum status.  School alumni are members of their school’s alumni association.  Each school has different offerings, with some more valuable than others (for example, HBS has a robust alumni association).  In addition, Harvard University alumni are members of the Harvard Alumni Association and are listed in the Harvard directory, in addition to other benefits (see:  https://alumni.harvard.edu/community/alumni-services ).

Some certificate programs - generally the really expensive ones - come with alumni status.  Ms. Banks completed the $150,000 Owner/President Management certificate from HBS.  HBS lists theirs certificates they come with Harvard alumni status here:  https://www.exed.hbs.edu/hbs-experience/alumni-network

HES certificates grant HES alumni status but not Harvard alumni status.  HES degrees grant both.
