Does UMPI have a Writing Center? The courses I took at other schools had a Writing Center where you were allowed to submit your assignments and they would give feedback for improvement.

Grammarly or ProWritingAid are fine. They don't change your text, they only point out mistakes.

Thanks No. This would be considered cheating and plagiarism in must colleges which leads to expulsion. You have an opportunity to submit 1 rough draft to the professor for feedback. Then you make edits and submit the final. UMPI does have a writing lab which may help you but they will not write papers or check assignments like you're asking for.

1) Exams are on an honor code basis. There's nothing stopping you from using a second monitor. You agree to the honor code. Your browser is not locked out. Your second monitor is not turned off. The honor code doesn't state to turn it off. If you passed the quizzes with flying colors you will have no problem on the exam. Just get the quizzes WRONG intentionally. By doing this you can study the test bank questions that are rephrased differently, plus the explanations are better.
2) Grammarly and ProWritingAid is fine. 3) UMPI offers tutors and writing help built into Strut Learning. I was able to upload an essay to it in my undergrad and a tutor got back with me with some ideas. Dr. Ashkir DHA, MBA, MAOL, PMP, GARA

If you do a second monitor you can't login to Strut twice. A second monitor won't help you on an exam though. You can't use the course material while taking the exam. UMPI has an entire writing lab who provides writing assistance. It's assistance. Not re-writing papers though. From the numerous posts sara143 has made I don't know that UMPI is the best choice for them. It seems like a testing based program such as a TESU or Excelsior degree would be easier for them. All of the courses from the ACE providers would be in English. For some they may be able to use translation services for the course content. Not sure how that could work with the exams though. Many classes also have papers so there's really no way to escape writing papers in English when it comes to degrees in America. Maybe take a course where they live to improve their English skills? An American English class isn't going to teach English as a language for international students. We do have English as a Second Language courses at colleges in the US. Maybe one of those would help sara143 out? ASU has an online program for English. This may be something to look into. It's a series of courses to help develop American English skills. I imagine that you would learn the differences in our spelling versus the UK and elsewhere such as z's and s's in words, o vs ou in words, terms like lift verses elevator, torch verses flashlight, and writing skills. It looks like it covers quite a bit of information. https://ea.asu.edu/services/english/ UMPI will require the TOEFL exam for international students where English is not your native language. https://www.umpi.edu/admissions/how-to-a...ernational I thought they began a session at UMPI perviously and struggled with the courses. Maybe they weren't enrolled and were just reading the course descriptions? The YourPace program is only a financial savings if you can move quickly. If one struggles writing papers it will not be a quick program and end costing more. It could be very frustrating and stressful for someone who is struggling.

UMPI didn’t ask me for tofel exam. I passed Duolingo with 120 scores. Mostly universities accept scores from Duolingo .

The link I provided shows what UMPI typically asks for international students. YourPace has a few exceptions and this may be one. You scored 120 on your Duolingo exam? That equates to 97-102 on the TOEFL which is in the advanced category. So your English skills should be fine for UMPI but you've struggled in the past. Weren't you taking classes at UMPI a few weeks ago? |
