Booster shot is sufficient for most...
#1
My wife got her Moderna booster after getting the first and second dose with Pfizer, I recommended the "mix/match" for max protection.  I wonder if I should get her to do a fourth one, such as a second dose of Moderna.  It's really up to her... I am still waiting for my booster dose notification, it's been a longer than expected wait after I got my first and second of Moderna.

The number of volunteer participants are on the low end, so for this "controlled" environment, I think the study is just the beginning of a few studies that will grow in number.  Hopefully a larger study from Israel will be published soon if not already done since they're vaccinating everyone with 4 doses.  Link: Fourth vaccine offers little protection against COVID-19 - study (msn.com)

I'll be honest, I don't see what the problem is with continual boosters/vaccination. The yearly flu vaccine is a thing, after all. Would it be ideal if there was a one-and-done shot? Absolutely! Am I going to be upset because I need to get a free shot at CVS or Walgreens every 6-12 months? Not really.

I know they were working on a flu/COVID hybrid shot at some point, it'd be nice if that is successful so that it's just one shot like you'd normally take in a year.

I have never had a flu shot. I have major anxiety about needles. I don’t know why. As for COVID shot, I did get the initial series of Pfizer. It was made extremely easy for us. As school employees, they provided a single date for everyone to get each shot. It was optional, but the fact that it was all planned out for us, it made it much easier to go forward with it. And for a nervous nelly like myself, it was helpful to have a co-worker willing to act as a distraction. I probably would not have gotten it on my own. I have not yet gotten a booster because it is on me to go find one. And I tend to avoid needles.

My mom got her booster. She had Pfizer for all three. The first two weren’t too bad. But the third she had some very strange side effects. But it did go away after about two days. I am not sure if it would have been the same if the booster was Moderna. But that does add to my hesitation. I am not against it in theory. I am just chicken.

every Monday we get an email from the CEO

last monday this was one of the bullet points in the email

*The CEO of Pfizer said that he thinks that there's going to be a recommendation for a fourth shot, so an additional booster. We need to wait and see some of the data, but he has made some important predictions in the past.

I was so mad when i read that
I had to get two shots and the booster or be fired
and now they're thinking a fourth might be needed ? !

I got sick as a dog after each shot -- fever of 102F for 24 hours
if they require another shot next year I think i'll just let them fire me

oh, the CEO of pfizer thinks a 4th shot may be needed ? really ?
I'm shocked I tell you, SHOCKED
he couldn't possibly have an ulterior motive

=====
Pfizer projects it will generate record-high revenue in 2022, saying Tuesday it expects to sell $32 billion of its Covid-19 shots and $22 billion of its antiviral coronavirus treatment pill Paxlovid this year.

On an unadjusted basis, Pfizer’s fourth-quarter profit increased more than fourfold to $3.39 billion from $847 million during the same three months in 2020. Pfizer expects $98 billion to $102 billion in sales for 2022, and adjusted earnings per share of $6.35 to $6.55.

I've had 3 shots and all of them knocked me flat for a while afterward. But that's certainly better than dying, so I'll complain, but not that much.

Maybe if the vaccine could have been deployed faster, we could've eliminated it and the need for further boosters.

I've had zero shots and am still alive...we all got very mild Covid in our house, the only one that got sick was my dad who had his shot. Your chances of dying from Covid are VERY low in the first place. But for some reason, everyone who gets the shot says "I got Covid and am SO glad I got the jab because I'm sure I would have died." SMH.

I got the Pfizer (boosted!) and I'm also in the Astra-Zeneca clinical trials (for science!).  Out of all of us who got COVID in our house (me and three of the step-spawn), I was the only one who got moderately ill.  I figure that's because I am immunocompromised.  Oh well, it got me sequestered from the triplets for two weeks and I got to eat lots of good food.

Family members who haven't taken the shot aren't "anti-vaccine", they're just immuno-compromised and was told not to take it from our consults with a few physicians (including a few nurses). Older sister has Lyme disease and younger sister has severe allergies/eczema, our in laws haven't gotten it either...

As long as they're cautious of what they're doing and prepared for gatherings (mask, hygiene, distancing), it's all we basically need. We've been safe for the duration of the pandemic, hopefully we can keep this up... We don't judge others, they can take it or not, as long as they're following proper protocol, they can be safe.

"Proper protocols." SMH.  You mean like masking (doesn't work, which I knew from day 1, as I know how molecules work), 6 feet of distancing (totally made up and didn't do a thing), plastic barriers (anyone who knows how air works could see this was just silly), using a shit-ton of wipes which did zero, vaccines which didn't stop people from getting Covid or spreading Covid, etc.  Yeah, ok.
