Pierpont or UMPI
#11
When deciding whether to go with UMPI or SDC, I would look at how many assignments the SDC course requires. 0 assignments: SDC will be quicker. 1 assignment: SDC may be quicker. Multiple assignments: UMPI will be quicker.

With how fast you're powering through courses, it's probably better for you to transfer as many credits to UMPI as possible/as you can afford and to meet your residency requirements by adding a minor. A minor in Management might pair well with CJ. Project Management could also work, but only if you haven't already taken Project Management at Sophia.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

That's what I figured I'd do since I'll probably have a decent amount of time waiting for the next term anyway. Can't hurt to have too many credits. Thank you!

LOL, I ask questions all the time, sometimes I forget if it's been asked or answered before... it's all cool...

evanmonast Wrote:Okay thank god, I've been stressing about that because I saw someone post a list of the available courses and none of them were my core requirements.

I was also so confused about if I could use my credits more than once but that clears it up. This is all so new to me as you can probably tell

You don't have to worry about the AALS, even though it's not in Yourpace, you can use Yourpace courses towards it.  Focus on the BACJ and get advising to add the AALS as a second program. No worries, we're always here to help...

BTW, you might be the first to do the BACJ on here, but there have been a few that have completed the BACJ at TESU, the last one I recall was joeman200, his degree plan is on the wiki https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Jo...ice_(2018)

As mentioned, with the speed you're getting courses completed, you can go for another minor for the BACJ, but only do that afterwards, focus on the current BACJ and once done, if you have the energy/time, then add the minor. There are a few minors to select from, and you can use those courses or whatever you want towards the AALS...

Ah man I'm overwhelmed and so excited to start at UMPI, unfortunately I'll be waiting until the spring session on March 14th. I've finished all the Sophia courses that I can make use off but I'm worried about how much I actually retained.

In your experience, how is SDC compared to Sophia? I hope I can fly through these and still pass the proctored exam. I only need to do that human biology with a lab, social psychology and either spanish here or instantcert spanish. My biggest worry is that Sophia was too easy and I'm going to struggle with SDC or actual UMPI courses

You'll be fine, don't worry about it, Study.com courses are not hard at all, you just have to go through the lessons at 1.5x speed, I can't listen to and review things any faster on the videos. For items I like to review/study more, I view them at 1.25x, I go at 1.5x when I know the materials already and just want to quickly see the presentation and get the quizzes done faster...

Again, the quizzes on Study.com are open book, just the final is closed book. For upper level courses, they have assignments, you don't have that for most lower level courses. And, I was going to point you into the same hyperlink... Link: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-or-Saylor

With SDC, the biggest thing to remember is to get 100% on each quiz within 3 attempts. With quizzes being open book, this is relatively easy to do. The better you do in one area, the fewer points are needed from the other areas.

My hack to speed up Sophia and SDC is to not review any of the material unless absolutely necessary. I learn by taking the quizzes. I also take the practice exam multiple times on SDC.
