Term 1 has ended. Final exams took place 10/29-11/01. The fees for the term were due 11/2 I believe.
There was a good bit of work involved. The format is about the same as what I think you would see in most traditional college online offerings. I received a 90 and 91 in my two courses. I was hoping for a 4.0, but think I pretty much got the grades earned.
PROS: Very inexpensive. Very good content. More writing than I am used to.
CONS: More writing than I am used to. Grading other people's work, which I would say ranged from okay to shockingly awful.
I think that each class began with about 45 students, and by the end maybe 15 were left. I want to continue, but have decided to spread the courses out over a longer period of time.

@StoicJ - Which program at UofPeople are you in? The subject here says BSBA, but your signature indicates it is for CS.

I am officially BSBA. Since registering I decided it would make more sense to get the BSCS, but I cannot change programs until I transfer another couple of courses, per my advisor.

I am now able to run a degree audit. Sending in my ACE transcript today.
It looks like I will be able to complete the BSBA if I take 9 more classes at UotP. Total remaining to be spent = $1373.
If I transfer to computer science, I'd need to take 20 more classes. Total remaining to be spent in that case = $2286.
Now I'm leaning more towards the BSBA. It would be $900 cheaper, require a LOT less time and effort, and I'd graduate 12-15 months sooner.

I agree with the BSBA path. You can use the money saved for a CS/Tech based master if that is the long term objective.

So UotP evaluated my transcripts. 29 courses came back as transferable, for 81 credits. My understanding is they will take up to 90 transfer credits. There are more courses I could have had evaluated, but I figured they would just be more electives so why bother.
Following are what was approved:
ACE (30 credits)
Sophia- Developing effective teams = 1 sh electives
Sophia- Essentials of managing conflict = 1 sh electives
Sophia- Ancient Greek philosophers = 3 sh electives
Sophia- Intro to statistics = satisfies 1 of 2 maths
Sophia- Accounting = BUS1102 Basic accounting (core business)
Sophia- Intro to ethics = satisfies core ethics
Sophia- Macroeconomics = BUS1104 Macroeconomics (core business)
SDC- Principles of finance = BUS2203 Principles of finance 1 (core business)
SDC- Intro to world religions = 3 sh electives
SDC- Personal finance = 3 sh electives
SDC- Intro to entrepreneurship = 2 sh electives
TEEX- Cyber Security for business pros = 2 sh electives
RA schools (51 credits)
English comp 2 = satisfies English comp
College algebra = satisfies 1 of 2 maths
Intro sociology = satisfies 1 of 2 social science
Intro psych = satisfies 1 of 2 social science
Art appreciation = satisfies 1 of 2 humanities
Intro philosophy = satisfies 1 of 2 humanities
Public speaking = 3 sh electives
Microeconomics = BUS1103 Microeconomics (core business)
English comp 1 = 3 sh electives
Western civ before 1660 = satisfies 1 of 1 civilization studies
Intro to biology = satisfies 1 of 1 natural science
Business law = BUS3305 Business law & ethics (core business)
Fundamentals of network technology = 3 sh electives
Intro to PC OS = 3 sh electives
Integrated software applications = 3 sh electives
Programming logic & design = 3 sh electives
Intro to database = 3 sh electives
Using the above, here's what I would need in order to complete the BSBA requirements:
1. UNIV1001 Online education strategies (Did 1st term. This is a course all UotP students must take 1st term.)
2. Principles of business management (Did 1st term.)
3. Business communications
4. Principles of marketing
5. E-commerce
6. Multinational mgmt
7. Entrepreneurship 1 (I asked them to accept SDC Entrepreneurship, but no luck.... probably since it's only 2 ACE-recommended)
8. Business & society
9. Organizational behavior
10. Business policy & strategy
11. Leadership
12. Quality mgmt

StoicJ, are you still a resident of Texas? Have you taken a look at the TAMUC BAAS Organizational Leadership that is competency based. Each term of 7 weeks is just $750 for Texas Residents, this is a steal compared to non-residents. You should take a look at their transfer credit options, there is a section for "earn course credit based on your experience, it shows Charter Oak and Excelsior! : https://new.tamuc.edu/programs/organizat...baas-orgl/

Yes, I am a TX resident. Looks interesting. There really are some good, inexpensive undergrad and grad options out there for TX residents.
