Help with my last three credits (public speaking)
#1
I am currently taking Sophia's public speaking course and I have 17 days left. I have not finished any of the touchstones yet so it looks like I won't be able to finish this one as grading times are 7-10 days. I was told that I would need to wait for the touchstone to be graded before submitting the next one. I have seen a conflicting post on here saying only the last touchstone is dependent on the other ones. Would I be able to submit the three and wait for all of them and hope that I get the grades right before the end date to submit the last? I also exhausted all the extensions although I was told that i could get another one to get the last touchstone graded. I need the credits before Jan 10. I was also thinking of just dropping it and waiting 30 days but i will be taking it during December where I'm not sure how grading will go with the holidays. Can anyone help me out I would appreciate any ideas.

If you're going to TESU, you can take "Communications 120: Presentation Skills in the Workplace" at Study.com and it will come in as "COM-290 : Presentational Speaking", fulfilling your oral communication requirement. Pros: It'll take maybe 2 days at most to complete. No essays or videos to create, just the SDC quizzes and final exam. Cons: It does cost more, especially if you don't currently have a SDC membership.

Which college are you going to? There might be other options depending on which school you're trying to transfer this to.

Don't overthink the touchstones.  The final touchstone is dependent on the third one with the added visual aid and a few changes.   The minimal is a 3 minute speech, and my original 1400 word script was 10 minutes long.  If touchstone 3 hasn't been graded by your deadline, just use the chat feature and they'll give an extension due to grading  (or at least that was the case for me).

When presenting your speech, I would suggest using the free website cueprompter.com, a free teleprompter.

yes, i thought about just pushing through but the thing is that I was told I couldn't even upload/submit the touchstone till previous one is graded and I would be waiting for the first one to be grade then the second and third. do you think there enough time obviously I would just do the assignments ahead of time. I guess there is only one way to find out but it sucks to end up doing all that work for nothing.

Since you have not done ANY touchstones, what I'd possibly do would be to save all the requirements for the touchstones (screenshots, copy to text file, something) and then drop the course. You can then work on the touchstones while waiting to be able to sign up for the class again and do the challenges/milestones once more. You won't have lost much in the way of work because you should be able to go through things faster the second time around. And you'll also gain valuable time for doing your touchstones.
