ECON Undergrad Credits (plz help)
#1
Exclamation
I am a student at Penn State majoring in Finance, and I'd like to pursue a double major in Economics. For me to be able to do that and still graduate on time, I need to find some transferrable 300 or 400 level (UD) Econ credit. Doesn't have to be a direct course equivalent, it just needs to be at least at the 300 (upper) level.

Does anybody know of a college/university that offers a good price for online ECON credit that has courses which could potentionally transfer at that 300 level.

I can basically get any course evaluated before I've taken it relatively fast; I will literally get a shit ton of courses evaluated and then figure out what I I'll take, so if anyone has any ideas lmk. Penn state also has an awesome transfer credit tool so I can check instantly if it has been evaluated before

I've been searching for weeks and the best thing I've found so far is LSU's Online program, I can take a Money & Banking class for $866, but that's a lot of money and I'd preferably like to pay less then that. If I can find courses around the $500 mark I would be so happy.

Thank you sm ?

I'm skeptical, but there's sooooommmme chance Penn State would accept alt-credit towards the requirement: a Study.com course with a recommendation from ACE for upper-division credit in or closely adjacent to economics (i.e. finance, just maybe) ($235 per month subscription with final exams for two courses per month included, and 3 more final exams available each month for $70 each), or a Coopersmith Career Consulting course with a recommendation from the NCCRS for upper-division or possibly graduate credit in or closely adjacent to economics (typically $150-200 per course).

Penn State does accept alt-credit from ACE (I've used Sophia and Saylor, they have a full list of previously evaluated courses). But Study.com doesn't have any UL ECON courses, and Study.com's finance classes are all general finance credit. They also unfortunately don't accept NCCRS so I can't use Coopersmith. I appreciate your reply tho

Econ alt-credit is hard to find at your desired price point.

Dine College has a class that might work at around $55/credit, but the trick to them is whether you have the equivalent pre-requisites & when it gets offered on their course schedule: https://www.dinecollege.edu/

ECO 460 Tribal Economic Issues and Development Strategies (3)
Prerequisite: MGT 420, BUS 460.
This is a basic economic development course examining both developing and Native Nations’ economies. Topics include theories of economic development: Marxist theory, Classical theory, Rostov’s takeoff theory, savings, investment and capital accumulation. Also the course examines economic issues facing Native Nation’ due to their unique relationship with Federal and State governments.

You could also check whether eMajor in Georgia may have some options that work: https://emajor.usg.edu/academics/course-descriptions/
